Celery seeds are extensively used in Ayurvedic and Unani medicine. It has been useful in the treatment of bronchitis, asthenopia, asthma, chronic skin disorders, vomiting, fever, etc. Apium graveolens (Celery) Seeds also moderates blood glucose and supply antioxidant enzymes in abundance.
Overview
Celery Seeds have great antioxidant properties because of constituents like caffeic acid, p-coumaric acid, ferulic acid, apigenin, luteolin, tannin, saponin, and kaempferol. Medicinal properties of celery seeds include anticancer, antidiabetic, anti-hyperlipidemic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activity. Celery seeds are also rich in B complex vitamins. Celery is predominantly used in India, China, and Egypt as a flavoring agent.
